just rebiult the motor on my 43 H. put in a new piston, new rings on all four, new rod bearings. well now i seem to eat oil . the motor i think may have one hour on the rebiult, i had toped off the oil and yesterday opened the top petthingy, after nothing came out i opened the bottom one and still nothing came out. i do have a hole in the block that someone drilled in for the oil dipstick . that spit out oil like mad but when i start the tractor i have some blue smoke for 1/2 a second. it doesnt smoke after that. i am using 30w oil for brake in. should i go to 40w nad if i do will that stop the blue clould at the start?

A little smoke at start up wouldnt bother me none, and if the hole for the dipstick seems to be the culprit maybe you could plug it with a cork and see what happens then.only other things I can think of are a bad head gasket or a crack some where.
