I have a chance to buy a '47 H Farmall. I would like to get some input on a fair price for the tractor. Tin work is very straight, but very rusty. Owner said that it was running in May of 2002. Has not been started since then. Stored outside w/ tarp over entyre motor/tranny area. Exhaust coverd and taped. Looks as though it will need all new wiring. One new rear tire and one needs to be replaced. Orginal factory wide front end w/good tires. Rear fenders. No apparent leaks. Anti-freeze is good and about 1 inch down. Oils do not seem to have any water or foam in it. Steering seems to be OK. Not a lot of slack.

I just checked some info out on the internet about some recently sold tractors. One guy bought a working '47 H for $450. Another sucker bought one for $1600. There was also a restored H with some time on the restoration that went for $1700. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that the fenders, wide front end, and overall good condition (aside from needing a paint job) merit some value over the typical "working" H.
One guess is as good as another, and we sure hope you get it for a steal.
